A PERFECT Campground for Families in Asheville, North Carolina!

Do we just stay at the campground or do we explore Asheville? I mean, it’s a tough decision when you stay at Asheville East KOA!

KOA East Asheville is a massive campground that was obviously built with families in mind. There is a beautiful playground, ride on and paddle boat rentals, an arcade, and a cute playhouse area meant for younger tots. There are two giant ponds and a river that are great for fishing and tubing. There are campsites and cabins available on and off the water.

The grounds are huge and brilliantly (mostly) paved, so we spent lots of time biking, skateboarding, and scootering around. There are also gorgeous trails around the pond that we all really enjoyed. We got to feed some cute little ducks and geese behind our camper in the pond!

So now you can see why it was hard to leave the campground, right? But if you’re in Asheville, there’s just a few must do’s that you can’t miss. Downtown Asheville is a vibrant city full of amazing art, unique shops, and seriously delicious food. (Go to Rhubarb to eat. Trust me. Thank me later.) Bonus, Asheville has a lot of vegan options which I found to be awesome!

There’s is also the iconic Biltmore Estate that you simply have to see and is an epic homeschool experience. Learn about history while touring the estate and then totally go wine tasting on the property, because wine tasting is always a win 🙂

Asheville also has some killer hiking trails and you can hop on the Blue Ridge Parkway to enjoy some INSANELY BEAUTIFUL scenic drives.

We loved our stay at KOA East Asheville & we hope you do, too! (I mean it, make a reservation at Rhubarb for dinner)

Happy camping!

Tips:
-Asheville offers so much more than I mentioned above. These were just our personal highlights. I suggest doing lots of research and plan a longer stay here, so that you don’t miss anything.
-The fall is absolutely spectacular in Asheville. I highly recommend booking in the fall season, so you can experience the postcard foliage.
